NHL bets: This +937 SGP reflects a tight defensive battle in Oilers-Canucks Game 7

Game 7s in the NHL tend to be low-scoring games, and I certainly expect that again here in Vancouver as the Canucks host the Edmonton Oilers.

I don't want to go crazy here with shot parlays or goal bets, especially after Edmonton couldn't deliver on many SOG props in Game 6 at home. Off the belief of a low-scoring and tight game, I do think there is some prop value we can find that is a bit flashier than just taking the under (which I recommend as a good bet).

DraftKings is offering a 50% SGP boost for tonight's game, so be sure to opt in there to get the best price on this trio of looks.

I expect goals to be at a premium here, as teams tighten up on the defensive end and get in front of pucks in this do-or-die game. As such, we turn to three defensemen to do just that.

Ian Cole has gone over 2.5 blocked shots in five straight games and is now over this line in three of his last four home games against the Oilers.

Tyler Myers has averaged nearly 20 minutes of ice time per game this series, which has given him plenty of opportunities to get in front of pucks. The Vancouver defenseman has been more productive in this space when on home ice, piling up seven blocks in his last two home games. He's gone over this line in four of his last six at home, and he's accumulated 23 blocked shots in his last seven games hosting the Oilers.

Vincent Desharnais appears to be the most trusted option on the Edmonton end for blocking shots. He's blocked 2+ shots in four of his last five this series and four of five on the road this postseason, averaging 2.4 blocked shots per game in both such splits. That role should remain once again.

Nothing too crazy here, but it's the preferred angle on this one that still gives us the potential for a nice payout.

Betting:

  • Ian Cole over 2.5 blocked shots
  • Tyler Myers over 2.5 blocked shots
  • Vincent Desharnais over 1.5 blocked shots

Together, that comes in at +937 on DraftKings when you utilize their parlay boost. I played it for .5u.
